The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first plan to oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
